Aims and Scope
The Journal of Remote Sensing and GIS Association of Thailand (RESGAT Journal) is an official publication of the Remote Sensing and GIS Association of Thailand in every four months since 2001. The RESGAT Journal is a peer-reviewed open-access journal ranked in Tier 2 by the Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI). The archival articles can be read and downloaded via journal web site (www.resgat.sut.ac.th; www.resgat.org).
The RESGAT journal aims to provide a forum for the publication of scientific research and review articles in the field of geoinformatics. All contributions that have not been published in other journals, reports, proceedings or others of publications are welcomes. Contributions are accepted in Thai and English and maybe research papers, shorth communications, or review articles.
The scope of the journal covers the basic and advanced geoinformatics research, particularly remote sensing, GIS, and GPS/GNSS in multidisciplinary sciences. The specific topics of interesting include:
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in agriculture and land use.
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in forestry, ecology, and environment.
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in geography and geology.
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in public health.
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in urban and social impact.
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in natural disasters.
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in marine science.
- GPS/GNSS and applications.
- Microwave remote sensing and applications.
- Photogrammetry and UAV mapping.
- UAV/UAS and applications.
- Sensors and space technology
- Advanced image processing and classification
- Web and mobile mapping and software development.
Type of Paper: Original research article and specially invited article.
Frequency: 3 issues per year (January-April, May-August, September-December).
Language: Full text in Thai or English
Peer Review Process
The RESGAT journal has a double-blind peer-review process. The editor, section editors and editorial board consist of academic lecturers and researchers from international and national institutes, Regional GISTDA center and GISTDA in fields of geoinformatics who have experience in conducting and publishing research. At least two reviewers evaluated the manuscript. Initial prescreening usually accomplishes within 1-2 weeks.
The permanent members of the Remote Sensing and GIS Association of Thailand (RESGAT) are not required to pay publication charges. Non-members of RESGAT are required to pay publication charges. The publication charge for all published papers online is at a rate of 1,000 Baht/paper. The author should pay a publication charge after receiving the acceptance letter from the Editor within the defined deadline. Payment for publication does not affect the peer-review process. The exemption of publication charges is required an official letter of RESGAT board for approval.
Workflow for online and offline submission process through the publication of RESGAT Journal is displayed in Figures 1 and 2, respectively.
